Inside you there are two Woolfs
Woolf Drinks might not be a name you’ve heard of, but when has that ever stopped us from enjoying a whisky, or 6. The brainchild of founder Seb Woolf, Woolf Drinks pivoted from an industry-focused company with the launch of their Artful Dodger range of independently bottled whiskies in 2018. Using a mix of subtle cask finishes and stellar as-founds, the aim is to get fantastic whiskies into the glasses of everyday folk, rather than letting them sit in collections, untouched.
Speaking of filling glasses, another pivot in 2021 saw the opening of Cut Your Wolf Loose in Brighton, a hybrid whisky bottle shop and bar. The aim was to make modern space for modern whisky drinkers – no stuffy, snooty, sneering. Learning what your customers like helps you source the right whiskies for your shelves, but Woolf Drinks went a step further and launched a second range of independently bottled whiskies under that same Cut Your Wolf Loose name that they can sell and serve in the shop.
We will be sampling from both line-ups, which isn’t something our host for the night, Hugo, normally does. So, not only will it be something new for us, but it’ll be refreshing for Hugo too. Six bottles showing what both brands have to offer, but all guaranteed to get us drinking great whisky that they’ve bottled to get into the hands of people like us, all enjoyed in our own judgement-free safe haven.
